My daughter and I set out the other morning to find out how many coffee houses there are in La Quinta.  My parents didn't allow us to drink coffee as children and so my brothers and I didn't really start drinking coffee until we were well into adulthood.  My oldest brother recently confessed to me that the first time he went into a Starbucks he was overwhelmed with the choices and when he reached the cashier he said, "I'll have whatever the woman in front of me ordered."  He was shocked when he got his iced soy non-fat latte with an extra shot!  He commented to me, "can you imagine drinking cold coffee with soy milk and God knows what else in it?"  He said he threw it in the bushes and headed to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and donuts to soothe his wounded taste buds.

My daughter is a Starbucks fan... not so much for the coffee as for the sugar and exotic sweeteners added to most of the Frappuccinos and iced tea drinks.  I prefer my lattes hot and the Frappuccinos ice cold.
